Multi-Engine Piston Rating MEP

The JAA Multi Engine Rating is a progression from a single engine propeller aircraft and is available to both private and professional pilot where it is part of the professional pilot’s license.

One the theoretical training is completed, you will start your training in our state of the art FNPTII Simulator (Alsim). Once you have achieved the required standard you will progress onto the aircraft.

An applicant for an MEP must hold a JAA/ PPL (A) or CPL (A).

Training for the multi-engine piston land MEP (L) can be done without the need to hold an Instrument Rating.

An applicant for a MEP shall be medically fit in accordance with JAR-FCL and hold a current JAR FCL Class ONE or TWO Medical Certificate and have 70 hours as pilot-in-command.

The MEP Course over a full time duration of 2 weeks.

Multi Engine Piston Instrument Rating (MEP/IR) for SEP/IR holder


An applicant for a MEP/IR shall be medically fit in accordance with JAR-FCL and hold a current JAR FCL Class ONE Medical Certificate and have SEP/IR and MEP qualification.

The MEP Course over a full time duration of 1 week.
